Meloxicam is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) of the oxicam class used for the treatment of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and musculoskeletal pain. It selectively inhibits cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), reducing prostaglandin synthesis responsible for inflammation and pain.
