Tizanidine is a centrally acting α₂-adrenergic receptor agonist indicated for the management of muscle spasticity associated with multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, or other neurological disorders. It works by reducing excitatory neurotransmission at the spinal interneuron level, thereby decreasing muscle tone.
